Overview

We preach and teach by:

Scripture Alone

It is the only source of Truth, therefore:

We accept the Holy Scriptures as God’s inspired (God breathed) and inerrant (without error) Word as the one basis for belief and life.

We avoid a “pick and choose” cafeteria approach to what is true in the Bible.

We accept God’s own eyewitness account of a six day creation of the world and man.

We proclaim all of God’s revealed will without compromise.

We rejoice in Scripture’s revelation of Jesus as the One and only Way to heaven.

We are eternally saved by:

Grace Alone

It is God’s plan of salvation, therefore:

We believe in the original and continuing sinfulness of man which leads to eternal punishment in a real hell.

We rely solely on the “undeserved” love of God shown to us through the perfect life, innocent death and victorious resurrection of His Son, Jesus, which pays for all of our sins.

We accept the reality of forgiveness for the whole world by Christ’s sacrifice, apart from individual human efforts.

We rejoice in God’s free gifts of salvation to us apart from human decisions and deeds.

We depend totally on the fact that Christ’s sacrifice is the one and only sufficient payment for the sins of all people. His resurrection assures eternal life for all who do not reject His gracious offer.

We live each day by:

Faith Alone

It is God’s work in our souls, not ours, therefore:

We acknowledge the Holy Spirit’s role in calling us to faith through the Word and the Sacraments despite our rebellion against God.

We treasure the means of grace, the Word and the Sacraments of Baptism & Holy Communion, which the Spirit uses to create and strengthen faith.

We are comforted by the assurance that the faith given to us by the Holy Spirit receives Christ’s salvation without decision, deeds, or emotional response on our part.

We rejoice in the Spirit’s ability to empower us through faith to a new life of love and service.

We enjoy the sure comfort of the eternal peace that comes with faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and Him alone.
